Do you know someone whose life story is so inspirational and personally powerful that it deserves to be told?
If so, here’s your opportunity to share that story with the world.
Local author and long-time journalist Lisa Romero is gathering the best unknown real-life success stories she can find for possible inclusion in an upcoming book. She’s currently accepting suggestions from the public.“This isn’t your typical motivational fare,” Romero explains. “Instead of focusing on a single person, this book will feature multiple stories of everyday people who have overcome tough challenges to find their own version of joy and success.
“I’m searching far and wide for the ‘unsung heroes’ among us – the people who leave a lasting, positive legacy by being an example to us all and through the good works they do,” she adds. “This book is not only a celebration of life and hope but an opportunity to motivate readers to identify and pursue their own ‘legacies of love,’ so to speak.”
Romero specifically seeks people who meet the following criteria:
- Candidates must be relatively unknown; no celebrities will be considered. The book explores the lives of ordinary people achieving extraordinary things whose stories might not otherwise earn public attention. Note, however, that previous media coverage does not necessarily preclude involvement in this project.
- Stories should be unusual, actionable and motivational. For example, many people have courageously faced and survived a life-threatening illness; this book would consider profiling someone who did so, but then took action to benefit others experiencing the same illness.
- Candidates must agree to be vetted. A minimum of two references who can corroborate the story will be contacted for verification purposes.
